Zuivelhoeve Switches to Our Digital Lubrication Schedule with App

The Maintenance Department at Zuivelhoeve in Twekkelo previously used its own maintenance system for lubrication-related activities. While the system indicated which tasks needed to be performed, it lacked clear information on exactly what had to be done, when it should be carried out, and which lubricants should be used. This created uncertainty on the shop floor, introduced operational risks, and required significant extra preparation during audits. As a result, improving the lubrication maintenance process became a necessity.

Updating the Existing Lubrication Schedule

The first step was to update the existing lubrication schedule so that it accurately reflected the current production processes and machinery. The installations mainly consist of filling machines, packaging machines, homogenizers, and separators.

Following the inventory assessment and update, the new lubrication schedule was integrated into our lubrication management software, S)MAXX.

The employees of Zuivelhoeve then received dedicated training on how to use the system. Through tablets, they now automatically receive their weekly lubrication tasks. By scanning QR codes on the machines, technicians gain immediate access to information about the required maintenance activities, the relevant machine components, and the prescribed lubricants.

The system utilizes Zuivelhoeve’s existing QR codes, eliminating the need for additional labels within the production environment.

Dedicated S)MAXX Portal with Tasks and Data

All completed tasks and collected data are automatically recorded in Zuivelhoeve’s S)MAXX Portal. The portal provides users with complete visibility into all lubrication-related activities.

Through advanced search filters, users can quickly retrieve information on who completed a specific task, when it was performed, which lubricant was used, and which oil or grease changes are scheduled. Thanks to the platform’s fast scanning capabilities and accurate record-keeping, lubrication tasks are completed on time and with the correct lubricant.

This structured, digital approach to lubrication management helps prevent equipment failures and unplanned downtime while increasing maintenance reliability. In addition, Zuivelhoeve has immediate access to a complete and up-to-date record of performed maintenance activities and food-grade lubricants used during audits. This results in a more efficient audit process and full traceability. Based on these positive experiences, sister company Dessertmeesters has also implemented the S)MAXX program.

Greater Visibility, Planning, and Control

According to Zuivelhoeve, implementing S)MAXX has provided the Maintenance Department with greater operational visibility, improved work planning, and full control over completed tasks.

The digitalization of lubrication maintenance has resulted in greater reliability, improved food safety, cost savings, and increased productivity.
