Shell PANOLIN S4 HLP Synth E
Shell PANOLIN S4 HLP Synth E is a highly successful, biodegradable hydraulic oil developed from renewable synthetic esters. This oil performs excellently under extreme pressure. It offers optimum protection against friction and wear and is suitable for both fixed and mobile hydraulic systems for earthmoving and forestry, the machine industry, the construction industry and hydro-electrical engineering, among others.
In addition, Shell PANOLIN S4 HLP Synth E is ideally suited for compressors, bearing lubrication and oil circulation systems, as well as for hydraulic systems on ships, such as CPP, stabilisers, steering gear and deck equipment. In short, this specific oil is excellent for a wide range of applications.
What does biodegradability mean?
Biodegradability refers to the natural ability of organic substances to be broken down by micro-organisms into simpler and harmless substances. The degree of biodegradability indicates the extent to which a chemical substance remains in the environment over time.
To comply with the EAL (Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant) qualification, Shell PANOLIN uses the OECD 301 B test method. The standard stipulates that at least 60% of the lubricant must be degraded within 28 days. In addition, the lubricant must not be toxic and must not accumulate in the environment (bioaccumulation).
